About us
The International Expert Movement (IEM) was founded in February 2009 in Barcelona as an initiative from the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) at a gathering with 40 leading global experts in the field of fats and health, originating from over 25 countries. This meeting marked an important moment, helping to shift the public discourse around fats from: "Eat less fat" to "Eat the right type of fat."
It is the IEM mission to disseminate sound scientific information about food & nutrition, especially fat quality in the diet, amongst professionals and the general public in actionable ways, in order to promote and advance nutritional improvement focusing on the quality of diets.
What we do:
- Share sound scientific information via our website, LinkedIn page and Twitter
- Organise symposia at international scientific conferences
- Publish the outcome of these symposia in scientific journals (see our publications here)
The Activities of the IEM are held under the auspices of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences and funded by an unrestricted educational grant from Upfield Holdings BV.
